Last updated: 11 October 2026. These terms explain how to use SteepStep. The product, price, and order details shown at checkout apply to each purchase.
Who provides SteepStep
SteepStep is operated by PIRATE GmbH, Brabanter Str. 53, 50672 Cologne, Germany. You can reach us at support@steepstep.com.
Accounts and access
Keep your sign-in details private and use accurate account information. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from a security issue outside your control. Tell us promptly at support@steepstep.com if you believe someone else has access.
Company owners manage workspace membership and roles. A company invitation grants only the role shown. A company payment or assessment invitation does not grant access to a participant’s report. Report access requires a separate permission from the report owner and is limited to the selected information while that permission remains active.
Assessments and reports
The questionnaire asks about your usual work preferences. Answer for yourself and do not enter another person’s answers. You can save your progress and return later. Your report reflects your answers when you completed the questionnaire. Your circumstances and habits can change over time.
The report supports reflection and conversation. It does not diagnose a health condition, establish competence or performance, or determine whether someone should be hired. Employers should use relevant evidence and applicable employment rules, not a profile as an automatic decision.
Orders and payment
Checkout shows the product, price, billing information, payment choice, and order terms before you submit. A personal profile is a one-time purchase with no automatic renewal. Your order page shows payment and invoice status separately. An invoice is available only after it has been issued.
If checkout does not show a payment choice, you cannot place an online order there. Applicable consumer rights continue to apply.
Company workspace use
Company users must use the service only for lawful purposes and within their assigned role. Do not invite someone under false pretences or access a report without the participant’s specific permission. A company is responsible for its own decisions about why it invites people and how it handles any report it receives, including any separate copies it downloads.
API tokens provide only the abilities displayed when they are created. Keep each token confidential and revoke it if it is exposed or no longer needed. Do not use the API to access information beyond the token’s stated scope.
Content and acceptable use
SteepStep and its licensors retain rights in the service, questionnaire, report text, and brand. You retain rights in information you provide, subject to the limited processing needed to operate the service and deliver the features you request. Do not interfere with the service, probe for unauthorised access, misuse another person’s data, or misrepresent a fictional example as a real person’s result.
Availability and changes
We may change or suspend features to maintain or protect SteepStep. We will handle changes to existing purchases as required by law. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending your use
You can stop using SteepStep and request account deletion from your account. We review deletion requests and may keep records that we need for legal duties or claims. The privacy notice explains how information is handled.
Your rights
These terms do not remove your statutory consumer rights. If any term conflicts with a mandatory legal right, that right remains in force.
Questions and updates
For questions, email support@steepstep.com. We may update these terms when the service changes. An update does not change an agreement already in place.
